There is a need for new volunteers. We are looking for individuals or couples who would be interested in providing tours of the Grist Mill. Training is offered.
There is a need for people who are skilled in maintenance and operations of a building. Computer skills are also needed, and there is a need for people to help keep the Mill neat and clean, or to take inventory.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Julie Hage at 815.288.5445 (home phone) or Elmer Stauffer, Site Superintendent for the Franklin Creek State Natural Area, at 815.456.2878 (office phone).
There is always a need for monetary donations. It takes appoximately $15,000 to $20,000 a year to cover the costs of operating the Grist Mill.
100% of your donation will be used toward developing our educational program or paying for the maintenance and operating costs (electricity, propane, insurance, elevator maintenance, etc.) All of us are volunteers, so none of your donation is used toward salary or wages.
Since we are recognized as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, your contribution is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Generally, you can deduct 100% of your donation as you receive no goods or services in exchange for your contribution.
Contributions can be mailed to the Franklin Creek Grist Mill, 1893 Twist Road, Franklin Grove, IL 61031. Please make your check payable to Franklin Grove Creek and Preservation Corporation, which is our legal name. We are recognized as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We could use your expertise and your financial support.
We
will be most grateful from the bottom of our hearts for either
of them.
