Operations Manager

 

DESCRIPTION:

Independently evaluates, selects and applies intensive and diversified knowledge of Practical techniques, procedures and criteria to conduct, direct others in conducting, planning and coordinating plant operations for all commission facilities, using judgment to resolve questions and ensure that all operational activities, documents and other services meet Commission goals.  The Commission facilities include the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, as well as their associated pumping and storage systems.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Typically requires a high school diploma with a minimum of ten years of experience working with water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems, or an A.S. degree and a minimum of eight years of experience working with water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems , or a B.S. degree and a minimum of six years of experience working with water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems or a M.S. degree and a minimum of four years of experience working with water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems.  Water and wastewater treatment plant operator certificates as required by current operating permits.  Requires comprehensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance processes and related equipment and a thorough understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operational procedures. 

 

Illinois EPA Class B Water Treatment Operator License and Illinois EPA Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervising and directing Water Plant, Waste Water Plant and Laboratory.
