We'll begin with our most frequently asked question. "Hey, wait a minute! These things run on my battery. What happens if my battery dies? How am I going to get into where I need to get into?"

Both the 39 and the 39-A "backspin." You can (with a bit of effort) manually reverse them.

Hatchmasters units are available with various lengths of rack material. The reason for this is that your particular use may demand that the unit be mounted at a specific location. As shown at left, we mounted our 39-A in front of the wheel-well on this pickup. The relatively short length of the rack provided the optimum length for the space provided.

The tonneau cover opens by more than 60 degrees, providing ample access. Note that the same unit mounted at the rear of the truck would barely open the cover.

So, the further back in the truck (or any other hinged opening) the unit is mounted, the less weight it has to lift..But, the rack length must increase to compensate for the increased travel. Our model 39-A data is below.

Hatchmasters units are powered by straight-forward DC motors. Electrically, if you wire them one.way they run one direction. If you wire them the other, they run the other direction. Below is the most.popular of all hook-ups--two units in parallel. A tonneau top might work this way.

We're sure you get the idea. But, if you need help, email us with your questions. We will caution you that our units consume fairly large amounts of battery amps and 14-guage stranded wire is recommended for all installations. Buttons and switches should also be rated for DC battery amperages. The wiring.shown above is merely a suggestion, and Hatchmasters does not assume responsibility for its use.
