Biographies of Karyn and Steve Mitchell

Karyn K. Mitchell N.D., PH.D., D.D., R.M.T., C.HT

Dr. Karyn Mitchell is an international teacher and speaker in the fields of Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Vegetarian Lifestyle, Meditation, and Shamanism. She also teaches Reiki Classes and has been a student of Psychology, Metaphysics, Religion (holding a Master's Degree and Honorary Doctor of Divinity), and Philosophy for over twenty-six years. She is also a graduate of the Silva Method, and has studied Shamanism from Michael Harner, Sandra Ingerman (The Foundation for Shamanic Studies), Cherokee, & Siberian Shamans. She is a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.), Holistic Psychologist, a Certified Reiki Master-Teacher of the Usui Shiki Ryoho School of Reiki, and is also certified through the American Board of Hypnotherapy as an Instructor of Metaphysical Hypnotherapy, and Past Life Regression Therapist and Teacher of Past Life Regression for Midwest University. She maintains an office at Haven in St. Charles, IL and works as a Therapist, Teacher, and Regression Therapist. She also travels, lectures, and teaches for groups, expos, and Spiritual Institutions. Her personal spiritual philosophy is to guide students and clients to a place of personal awareness and empowerment. Karyn is certified with the National Association for Transpersonal Psychology in the areas of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Transpersonal Therapy, Analytical Hypnotherapy, and Past Life Regression Therapy. She is an instructor for the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the International Medical Dental Hypnotherapy Association. She is co-founder of Midwest University for Holistic Studies in Iowa City, Iowa. Her books, REIKI: A TORCH IN DAYLIGHT, REIKI: BEYOND THE USUI SYSTEM, REIKI MYSTERY SCHOOL, WALK-INS SOUL EXCHANGE, THE SACRED TRUTH/THE BLOODLINE OF SOPHIA, and Abductions: Stop Them, Heal Them, Now! Steven Mitchell, RMT, C.Ht.

Steven Mitchell has been a Reiki Master Teacher of the Usui Shiki Ryoho System of Reiki for several years. He has traveled and taught throughout the United States and in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. He teaches three forms of Reiki: Traditional, Tibetan, and Beyond the Usui System. He is also a teaching, practicing herbalist, having studied in Massachusetts with such herbal giants as Rosemary Gladstar, Susan Weed, Christopher Hobbs, Michael Tierra, Daniel Gagnon, Paul Bergner, Rob McCaleb, Ed Smith, and others. He has also studied with the great natural healer in Boulder, Colorado, Hanna Kroeger. He maintains his own personal, organic herb garden and creates his own teas, tinctures and herbal combinations. His knowledge of crystal and stone healing came from attending workshops throughout the country and studying with Melody. Steve is a Certified Instructor for the Melody Level I and II classes. He teaches a combination of Reiki and crystal and stone healing to groups and individuals. Steve has abdicated all former work and devotes his life to the Spiritual Practice and teaching of Reiki and Healing. He is a former accountant who graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. At the University of Iowa he met and married his wife, Master-Teacher Karyn Mitchell in 1972. They have two sons and live in a house they built in the woods outside of Oregon, Illinois.
