One of our readers found a typo on this page and sent E-Mail asking why. I replied to the query. I am posting the reply here so that you can save time in the future. If you spot an error, here is why.Take your pick.

a. The Punster likes to have something for everyone. Some people like finding errors in print. We always include at least one typo per page four those folks.

b. This is a variant spelling like those used by crossword constructors when they cannot find a another way to fill a spot.

c. Spelling based on northwest Minnesota "Norske Speak" dialect pronunciation.

d. The cat did it. In addition to supervising the operation, Hobbitt also fills in as typist at times.

e. My spell checker suffered a mental breakdown.

f. I was typing late at night and kept nodding off at the keyboard.
