Sometimes we get the feeling with Belgians, the apple did not fall far from the tree.

Hot Cast BRONZE  Belgian Sheepdog  MEDALLIONS:  BERGER BELG by Fataah Ewe’

Heavy Bronze Medallions hot cast 1/03 at  ARTWORKS  in California, a world reknown foundary.

On the face, raised letters say BERGER BELGE,

ie, Belgian Herder, the national dog of Belgium.

This will be a very small edition, only 8 were cast in 2003.

In order to cast a new set, a new mold would be made from the master at the foundary, for that run.

Hot poured in the lost wax fine arts tradition -- not resin cast or cold powder technique.

3 & 1/4" across, 3/8" thick with a serrated coin like edge, heavy weight: 11oz. each

These medallions look lovely and important on a special person's desk.

I certainly have felt special whilst hoarding them for myself!

Now I want to share them as they were intended.

They make splendid book page & paperweights, & fit nicely on the top of coffee cups

to keep flies (& dog hairs) from falling into one's brew.

They are very royal as only real bronze can be,

& could be mounted in hardwood on a special door or mantle.

The weight & generous size gives a very satisfying sculptural bronze experience

in handling the medallion, leaving no doubt it is an unusual work of fine art.

This (with Belgians as the subject) will likely not happen often in hot poured

bronze, because the cost of casting is simply prohibitive.
