Those of you who weren't lucky enough to get one of the 39,341 tickets to the Sunday Night game between Chicago and New York missed the musical performance of the current Region 3 Champion Head Over Heels Sweet Adelines quartet. Members of the three-time world champion MELODEERS chorus of the North Chicago suburbs, they will be competing for the World Championship at their September convention in Phoenix, both as a quartet and as a chorus.
They are seen here on the evening of June 8 at Wrigley Field as they performed God Bless America and The National Anthem at the start of the game.
If you look very closely, you will see their name at the bottom of the big center-field scoreboard! We're sorry we missed the rainbow that was there a few minutes earlier. The Cubs won the game 8-7 when the Yankee pinch runner was picked off first base in the top-of-the-ninth. It was a great night in the "friendly confines."
