St. Patrick Parish

Liturgical Ministries

Ministry of Compassion
Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist visit, pray and bring Holy Communion to shut-ins and those unable to worship at St. Patrick Church due to illness, disability or convalescence. The ministers serve in the homes, hospitals and Nursing Homes.

Music
Those who assist through music seek always to pray and never to perform. Singers and instrumentalists are invited to join...

  • Cantor: These singers publicly lead the congregation in active participation of the Liturgy.
  • Instrumental Musicians: Serve as accompanist to the cantor and congregation, or to the choir.
  • Adult Choir: Adult vocalists who sing a variety of contemporary and traditional pieces.
  • Resurrection Choir: Adult vocalists who sing for parish funerals.
  • Youth Choir: Consists of children grades 3 through 8
  • High School Choir: Young men and women join together in song to bring a contemporary sound to our Masses
  • Liturgical Dance: Unique ministry that provides symbolism through movement.

Art & Environment
Enhances our liturgical celebrations through its creative efforts in floral arranging and other decorative displays. Also cares for the sacred vessels, linens, and other traditional symbols used in the services.

Education & Formation

RCIA (Right of Christian Initiation of Adults)
This is the formation process by which non-Catholic adults become Catholics. There is also a similar program for children. This process is a journey in stages, from inquiry to initiation. It is facilitated through classes, the Mass and the shared life of the Catholic Church. Classes are also open to Catholics who want to learn more about their faith.

Religious Education
Classes are held throughout the school year for students attending public schools from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion are received in the 2nd grade, and the Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the 7th & 8th grade.

St. Mary Elementary School
Provides a preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds. Comprehensive programs are offered for grades K-8, with all-day kindergarten. Extensions of the academic program include religion, family life and Catholic values, art, music, physical education, computer, library and counseling services. Classes take turns preparing the weekly school Mass and the Masses offered at our local nursing homes. The sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion are received in the 2nd grade, and the Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the 7th & 8th grade.
